About Alexandra

I co-founded Expatriate Law with my father, David Hallam-Peel, in 2010. Our firm is unique in that we only advise British expatriates, and assist them with divorce and other family law disputes within the English courts. Every one of our English qualified solicitors and barristers have lived abroad as an expat themselves, giving them unrivalled insight in to the issues that affect British people living abroad.

I am a solicitor specialising in divorces with an international element and financial remedies on divorce, for British expatriates or those with links to England. I also undertake children matters including child abduction.

I am an accredited specialist in International Family Law and Advanced Financial Provision (through Resolution, the former Solicitors Family Law Association) and I sit on Resolution’s international family law committee. I am also a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. The IAFL is a worldwide organization of practicing lawyers who are recognized by their peers as the most experienced and skilled family law specialists in their respective countries.

Having practised family law in Dubai for 8 years where I advised British expats in the region, I have extensive knowledge of Sharia laws and their impact on family matters for expatriates. I regularly advise English law firms on Dubai laws and their implication. I wrote the UAE chapter of ‘Family Law Jurisdictional Comparisons (2nd Edition)’, published by European Lawyer/ Thomson Reuters. I am also a contributing author to Resolution’s Guide to International Family Law.

I have advised a wide range of expatriate clients, high net worth individuals, professionals, successful entrepreneurs, and individuals from international ruling families. I have also taken on a range of pro bono matters, assisting vulnerable individuals to secure their legal entitlement on divorce.

Testimonials

Alexandra Tribe has been both indefatigable and indispensable to the resolution of these matters CAFCASS family court adviser

I came to know Alexandra through interviewing number of different lawyers and it was her honest approach that attracted her to me the most. Unlike some lawyers, Alexandra’s approach is first to resolve issues amicably and avoid confrontation, however, if required Alexandra can be very assertive and forceful to achieve the required result. Alexandra has excellent contacts in both UK and UAE and can offer ex-pats with complicated issues the best support one can ask for. I have no hesitation to recommend Alexandra to friends. HB – British expat client in Dubai

Alexandra represented me expertly through a very tricky time in my life. She talked me through the process of divorce clearly and always explained to me the merits of the various options available. As a member of Resolution and as a person with the highest integrity, her approach is to first try to avoid argument between parties, if at all possible. Whilst there is no doubt in my mind that in the event of any disagreement, I would be more than adequately protected, I am happy to say that everything went very smoothly indeed. I highly recommend her. NS – British expat client in Dubai
