I understand how difficult and stressful it must be for those going through a divorce, separation or a family dispute to identify and choose the right family lawyer or solicitor to help and support them through their matter.

This is why I try to assist with that decision by offering anyone with a family law matter a free of charge initial consultation to discuss their matter and with no commitment required from them.

In the initial consultation, I will discuss the different aspects of the case and touch upon the options available to help deal with them. This is also an excellent opportunity for potential clients to get to know how I approach my work and to hear what support I can offer to progress their case.

I can also outline the initial steps I would propose taking in their case so that the potential next steps are clear. They will then be better placed to decide whether I might be the right fit to work with them on their case.

I have practised as a family law solicitor for over 11 years and I am a Resolution Accredited Specialist ( https://resolution.org.uk/professional-development/specialist-accreditation/ ) in medium to high-net worth financial matters and in private law children matters, including disputes about child arrangements such as contact and residence. I also regularly advise on pre-nuptial agreements, applications to vary maintenance and disputes involving cohabiting couples.

As a member and an Accredited Specialist of Resolution, I am committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes. I, like other Resolution members, agree to follow a Code of Practice ( https://resolution.org.uk/membership/our-code-of-practice/ ) that promotes a non-confrontational approach to family problems. This remains a very important aspect of my work and how I approach each case since I believe strongly that I have a responsibility to try to reduce any acrimony in a matter wherever I can.

My firm, Maddox Legal, is based in Central London but I also often work remotely and am based in Buckinghamshire. I therefore work with many clients in and around London and also with those who live locally to me in Buckinghamshire and in neighbouring Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

I am always happy to meet new and existing clients in these areas at a time and location convenient for them or, alternatively, to meet remotely by telephone or video link if they prefer.
