I’m Claire Saunders, a Financial Life Coach and founder of Mint Coaching. I help people going through separation and divorce move from feeling stressed, overwhelmed and unsure about money to gaining clarity, confidence and calm so they can make informed financial decisions and feel able to rebuild and enjoy their life again.
My background is in both financial coaching and life coaching, and I’ve spent years working with people through major life transitions where money and emotions are deeply intertwined. I specialise in supporting clients rebuilding their financial lives after relationship breakdown - when everything can feel uncertain, pressured and emotionally loaded all at once.
The people I work with are highly capable in many areas of life but find themselves feeling out of their depth when it comes to money, particularly when the life they thought they would be living has suddenly changed after separation. It’s not about capability, truly it isn’t, it’s about being in unfamiliar territory at a really emotional time and learning to adapt and grow into their new landscape.
There’s often a mix of fear, confusion, exhaustion and pressure sitting underneath all of this, and it can feel like a heavy load to carry, especially when children, housing and long-term security are involved.
What I offer is a calm, practical space to help you make sense of it all. I’m not here to overwhelm you with jargon or complexity, or tell you what to do. Instead, I help you get clear on your financial picture, understand your options in plain English, and start making decisions that feel more grounded and manageable. Together we will clarify your goals, create awareness around where you are now, where you want to go, and create a path to get you there.
I work with clients online, and also in person from North London (N10). My approach is supportive, non-judgemental and steady. I love what I do and am passionate about the real transformation that can happen when people are properly supported through this stage. I tend to work with clients over a small series of sessions so we can build real clarity, confidence and lasting change. Some people benefit from more focussed support at the beginning, while others prefer ongoing or occasional check-in sessions as life evolves and new challenges arise.
I offer a free mini 1:1 session, which is a relaxed way to talk through what’s going on and see whether this feels like the right fit for you. You’ll always come away with something useful from that conversation, even if we decide not to work together.
Ultimately, my coaching helps people move through one of the most financially and emotionally challenging periods of their lives with more steadiness, self-trust and confidence, so they feel informed, capable and in control of their next chapter.
At the outset I was overwhelmed and scared - getting divorced and having to manage my finances independently for the first time in 25 years. Claire’s process was great in helping me identify my priorities and what I actually wanted my money to do for me. She demystified ISAs, pensions, different ways of saving and investing, tools for budgeting and easy systems for day-to-day managing. Plus thinking through the numbers on my divorce settlement and house purchasing. Claire understood and met my needs perfectly. I’m so glad I had her on my team.
When I made the decision to search for a financial coach, I could never have anticipated how much of an impact it would have on my life - especially the impact that Claire would have. She is extremely empathetic, warm, and intelligent. She just gets you without the need for many words. But even if you're confused and don't know where to start, she’ll help you organize your thoughts and define goals... and she makes it look so easy! The journey with her has been incredibly life-changing, and the knowledge I gain in these sessions is something I can easily apply to other areas of my life as well. And now, I also do it with more confidence, because I always trust that I’m supported along the way. I can’t recommend Claire enough, and I’m honestly so grateful to have her support.
In our final session I thanked Claire wholeheartedly and said my time with her has been transformative, and life-changing. I don't say these things lightly, but as someone who has struggled with managing personal finances my entire life Claire has awakened something in me I didn't think possible, she has empowered me to make small but incredibly impactful changes and has done all this with kindness and compassion. Claire embodies everything a financial coach should be, and I am so unbelievably grateful for everything she has helped me with. If you find yourself in a position where personal finances are daunting and you think a financial coach could help, please don't even hesitate, I promise you will not look back.
