I worked for 33 years in the financial industry as a manager in different departments retail, corporate, international. I am involved on a spiritual path that started with le Chemin de Compostelle, I have been taught by Asian Master in Tai Chi, and studied Karl Jung psychology. I also involve myself in a charity association, raising fund for the poorest children in Cambodia.
My personal life was more chaotic, didn’t want to get married and my 3 most important relationships broke down, I wanted to be financially independent and thought at that time that growing a family and a successful business was impossible mission.
When I met my partner who worked in UK, I quit my job and moved to the UK with the aim of setting up a business of my own, but quickly realised that this wasn’t working. I wanted to do something but didn’t know what to do. My only background was in financial management, but I was at home, without any income of my own, feeling powerless. I started to lose confidence and faced big challenges with my relationship mainly fears and doubts connected with financial dependency. My pension plan and investment strategies for my retirement didn’t work anymore. I needed to contribute professionally, and the relationship with my partner was so toxic that I had to leave the house, with a suitcase, my computer from RBNB to RBNB.
I did a lot of research on the Internet, read many books on the topic of money and was lucky to meet coaches in the financial industry, others who were experts in financial independence.
That was the beginning of my new life. I did my first Money Coaching session and in 4 sessions my life completely changed. The coaching gave me confidence, clarity and vision but most importantly, I discovered myself and found that money is a mind set and experienced the power of coaching.
From that time on I knew that I wanted to share my experience with others and give that knowledge to help people transform their mind set around money and their relationship.
How Money can impact your relationship
Money continues to be one of the main causes of discord and divorce so Money Coaching is a great investment in your relationship or marriage!
Money dynamics begin to develop in couples based upon their individual relationships with money. Both people in a relationship have beliefs and patterns that collectively create the issues and relationship that couples have with money. In some cases, money issues create fear, tension, and conflict, especially when a couple has not made clear agreements around money in the beginning of their relationship.
It’s so easy to step into the role of “boss” (or tyrant) when you’re the main breadwinner in a relationship. For some couples, making more money than your partner seems to give extra status and extra points. Does this mean whoever earns more money is more worthwhile and therefore has more power? Over time this can impact a couples’ sense of intimacy.
If one person is controlling and manipulating around money in a relationship, there’s a tendency for the other to become fearful, which in turn creates a passive and disempowered partner. The marriage no longer feels safe and comfortable. This is the perfect setup for the unhappy honey-bunny to start hiding purchases out of quiet retaliation. When his or her needs aren’t fulfilled emotionally, comfort may seem to come from material objects. Unfortunately, this strategy leads to issues around money and sabotaging the relationship..
In addition to transforming my fears, anxiety, frustration and behaviours I was facing when I left home, letting down my husband and our teenager - I didn’t know at the time that money was running in the background. I have done much self-help reading, workshops, and exercises with therapists. Nothing has addressed my issues with my relationship and personal power as much as the few short weeks I have had with the money coaching. My relationship now is growing in harmony and we have an amaizing life. Tracy & Gary
