About Claire

I am a family mediator, with over 20 years’ experience as a family lawyer dealing with financial cases and work relating to children. I assist clients in reaching agreements on legal and practical issues following separation or divorce by online mediation. I mediate in Oxfordshire, London and by online video.

More clients are now looking for ways to reach agreement without having to make an application to a court. Keeping cases out of court requires a special skill set and experience. As an accredited mediator, I works with couples to guide to assist them in division of finances and arrangements for their children and any other discrete issues. I am also trained to meet with children as part of the Child Inclusive Mediation process and am able to conduct MIAM meetings and Hybrid Mediations, where lawyers can be involved in the process.

I am the author of the Which? ‘Guide to Divorce and Splitting Up’ (2010) and Which? Members guide 2015. I am collaboratively trained and an accredited specialist of Resolution.

I am listed as a Recommended Lawyer in the Legal 500 (2020 edition) and am ranked in Chambers (2020 edition) as a Leading Individual.

Clients praise Claire Colbert for "the empathy, compassion and understanding she shows, coupled with her ability to make the complex simple." Another source adds: "She has dealt with all matters in a calm, tactful and sensitive way while making sure that my interests were best represented and served." (Chambers & Partners, 2019)
